Controlling access to your coworking space just got easier with KISI

Over the years that we've been working with Nexudus Spaces, we've seen how space managers have a daily battle on their hands when managing space access or printer usage. Our main objective for Nexudus Spaces has always been to offer an integral solution that responds to any of the needs that arise in your coworking spaces. One way for us to reach this objective is by integrating Nexudus Spaces with solutions that provide complementary services via our application programming interface (API). Drum roll please.... We are therefore very pleased to present our recent integration with KISI, a system that lets coworking spaces control their doors via a mobile app.

What is KISI?

KISI is an access control system app for mobiles that lets space members enter your coworking space using their smartphone. What's more, it has many features that give you a better idea of how your space is being used.

How can the integration between KISI and Nexudus Spaces help your space?

As your space grows, you'll also face more and more user access issues. It's increasingly common for there to be many types of coworkers in a coworking space who require different levels of access or that have different working patterns. Below are some of the processes that you can automate when you integrate KISI with your Nexudus Spaces account:

  • KISI keys: You can automatically generate a new KISI key when a new member registers at your space or cancel a key if a coworker decides to leave.
  • Flexible opening times: You're bound to have different price plans that allow members to access the space at different times of the day. For example, morning, afternoon, 24/7, etc. By integrating both systems you can synchronise the access conditions that each of the price plans have in Nexudus Spaces with the KISI user accounts.
  • Permissions: When you integrate door access control in your space, you'll have a much better idea of who is coming and going and when.

Flexibility, mobility, data

The coworking community is becoming increasingly diverse. Over time we've helped some spaces become specialised, i.e. focused on specific communities, such as makers, chefs, coliving, female entrepreneurs, etc. We've also seen that many coworkers have very different working hours, either because they're on the move or due to their availability. For example, some people have a 9-to-5 job but want to work on a personal project in their 'spare' time. Normally, this type of user needs to use the space outside of the 'usual' working hours.

One of the advantages of using check-in in Nexudus Spaces is that the platform generates reports, which can give you a better idea of how your space is used. KISI also has user reports, which means if you integrate both systems, you can get an even closer look at how your coworkers use your space. Knowing who uses your coworking space, when and how is essential to helping you understand what aspects can improve the service you offer your community.

What do I need to perform the integration?

If you already have Nexudus Spaces and you're interested in integrating KISI in your coworking space, you can contact KISI for a quote. The KISI team will tell you about the steps you need to take to install the system.

If you already use KISI but are new to Nexudus Spaces, you can open a free demo account on our website.

Lastly, if you have both systems in your space, you can find tips on KISI's help page and as always, you're more than welcome to write us an email with any queries at support@nexudus.com.

We look forward to getting your feedback as it always helps us see what we can improve. Nexudus Spaces has managed to resolve the main issues that we mentioned above by integrating solutions like KISI to control access or Ezeep to manage printing, among many others.
